Team & Position Description As a Compliance Executive, you will be responsible for ensuring all products meet UK and international safety standards, including the Toy Safety Directive (2009/48/EC), UKCA marking, and environmental regulations. You will manage compliance documentation, regulatory submissions, and vendor testing while proactively identifying and mitigating risks to ensure seamless market access across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. What You Will Do Day To Day (responsibilities) Collaborate with test houses and manufacturers on testing requirements and certifications. Monitor and interpret regulatory changes, communicating their impact on products. Prepare and submit compliance reports to regulatory bodies as required. Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues and complaints. Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and product documentation What We Are Looking For (Key Performance Objectives) Develop a Compliance Monitoring System (First 6 Months): Establish a proactive review process to track and implement changes in toy safety and packaging regulations, ensuring ongoing compliance and operational efficiency. Streamline Testing & Certification (First 90 Days): Optimise the approval process for testing quotations to improve cost-effectiveness while ensuring regulatory compliance with UKCA and international safety standards. Enhance Quality Control & Risk Mitigation: Review the current Quality Control (QC) protocol to ensure systematic tracking and management of product safety issues, reducing the risk of non-compliance and recalls. Regulatory Reporting & Submission Accuracy (Ongoing): Ensure timely and accurate submission of compliance data, including Extended Producer Responsibility reports, Plastic Packaging Tax, WEEE, and Batteries compliance to Valpak/HMRC on a quarterly basis. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between Customer Service, US compliance teams, and vendors to resolve quality concerns and potential recalls while supporting new product design reviews to identify safety risks early. Lead UK Sustainability & Environmental Compliance Initiatives: Represent the company in sustainability forums and ensure compliance with evolving environmental regulations, driving corporate responsibility efforts. Regulatory Classification & Audit Preparedness: Review and update commodity codes and BTI rulings bi-annually to ensure accurate classification and tariff compliance, reducing potential import/export issues.
