The Role We are seeking a Trainee Management Accountant to join the James Fisher and Sons PLC Finance team in Barrow in Furness. This a group level role supporting not only the PLC team, but also the wider entities that make up the James Fisher & Sons Group. The successful candidate will be an aspiring accountant who will aid in the process of accurate and timely management accounting reporting for the central division. The role requires the use of multiple accounting systems and business partnering with a diverse amount of finance & non-finance stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in Reporting, FP&A and producing insightful management accounts across a range of business entities. For the right candidate we are also able to offer study support packages. Role Accountabilities Preparing management accounts. Supporting on P&L and Cash Flow forecasting and budgeting. VAT Returns. Balance Sheet Reconciliations. Assisting in the statutory reporting and external audit. Bank reconciliations, processing journals, currency revaluations and profitability analysis. Other adhoc finance requests as they arise- e.g Tax Analysis, Sales Analysis, SG&A Analysis, as well as involvement in system enhancement projects. Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience AAT L3/ Equivalent qualified or Qualified by experience. Strong IT / Microsoft Office and Numeracy skills. Team player who is willing to learn and develop within the role and on new assignments as they arise. Flexible approach combined with attention to detail and a hands-on work ethic, being comfortable using new systems and confident in picking up new processes. Pro-active and Pragmatic. Use of Sage 200 or other accounting systems preferred. Experience of working in a Finance related role.
