A day in the life of a Murphy Completions & Commissioning Engineer
- Compiling of pre-commissioning procedures.
- Calibration and troubleshooting of site Instruments.
- Oversee/Lead the pre-commissioning Instrument activities; loop checks, DCS, C&E, vendor packages.
- Working as part of a multidiscipline site based team, specifically undertaking Instrument Pre-Commissioning activities to ensure demonstration of system and subsystem compliance with required project acceptance criteria.
- Production and review of Testing, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning Documentation, integrating OEM and Vendor requirements into the overall plan and procedures.
- Monitoring, verifying, and reporting on mechanical commissioning activities to the Commissioning Manager, ensuring compliance and adherence with Principal Contractor Programme
- Perform daily inspection of site construction / commissioning activities and system walkdowns, including the capture, management and close-out of Punch list items.
- Undertake fault finding on installed equipment and ensure all issues are closed out to the required technical and quality standard.
- Instruct and mentor team members to deliver the mechanical testing and commissioning activities.
- Continuously working to improve work processes, advising and support on compliance and quality matters.

- HNC / HND in a related Electrical/Instrument and Control Engineering or equivalent related discipline and experience.
- Experience of Oil & Gas equipment and processes essential.
- Working knowledge of DCS, Fire & Gas systems, VMS, ESD systems and cryogenic instruments.
- Familiarity with CMS systems, loop checks, ITR's and field tablets.
- Able to write and compile Pre-Commissioning procedures for Instrument systems.
