MK College Group has an exciting opportunity for a creative Maths Lecturer to join the team at HMP Belmarsh. As a Maths Lecturer, you will engage prison-based learners with creative classes and resources, inspiring them and providing a positive learning experience. This role involves outreach work outside of the main classroom, connecting with learners and supporting them to achieve success through qualifications and developing confidence and softer skills applicable to employment.
We seek an individual who can communicate effectively with learners to inspire and motivate them. The average class consists of 8 learners, and sessions are approximately 3 hours long. Lessons need to be adaptable, innovative, and imaginative.

Work Environment: Belmarsh is a Category A prison, known for its security and safety. Education staff feel secure and are committed to reducing reoffending by preparing offenders for their release. The education department has strong links with healthcare and psychology to promote well-being.
Courses offered include Art, Business, Catering, Creative Writing, English, IT, Mathematics, and Mentoring. Learning Support is central to supporting our neurodiverse learners.
Work Schedule: Education delivery hours are Monday to Thursday from 09:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:00. Teaching staff are expected to be on-site from 08:15 and usually leave by 17:15. Fridays are half days with opportunities for flexible working.
Ideal Candidate: You may be a good fit if you believe people can change, understand the value of learning from mistakes, and can accept strict boundaries while being flexible and creative.
