We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Controller (AFC) to join our dynamic finance team. Due to continued growth, this is a newly created permanent role and is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to grow their career in financial management and play a key role in shaping the financial strategy of a growing organisation.
Supporting the Financial Controller in maintaining sound control procedures, you will adhere to all company policies regarding administrative control, accounting, legal matters, and proper management of business assets. The AFC will also be asked to deputise for the Financial Controller in their absence.
Duties
* Analysis of financial information to assist business profitability and growth.
* Bank reconciliations - resolving any differences in a timely manner.
* Working with the team to ensure sales and purchase ledger are accurate and up to date.
* Providing accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making.
* Assisting with month-end reporting.
* Control of different income streams - petty cash, card transactions, etc.
* Ensuring compliance with all financial regulations.
* Reviewing accounting processes and practices to improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations.
* Assisting with cash flow and production of forecasts.
* Reviewing company assets and liabilities.
* Preparing monthly reconciliations for all accounts.
* Assessment of monthly expenses.
* Production of relevant commercial analysis e.g. margins and pricing.
* Assisting with payroll activities.
Qualifications & Experience
* Possess or be working towards a professional qualification, such as AAT.
* Proficient IT Skills – knowledge of accountancy spreadsheets/word processing.
* Ability to generate reports and statistical information and to maintain databases/filing systems in an organised and systematic way.
* Comprehensive knowledge and experience of all aspects of the account’s procedures.
* Experience with managing both customer and client relationships, and confident communicating/liaising with both.

This is a permanent role, which for the right candidate will pay circa £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
