Job overview
We have an opportunity for a Band 7 Dietitian (part time – 30 hours/week) to join our community Nutrition and Dietetics team for a 12-month fixed term period to cover maternity leave. The main responsibility of this role is to provide a service to patients/carers on home enteral tube feeding and training to CLCH staff.
The community dietetic service includes a successful and proactive team of dietitians and dietetic assistant practitioners covering the boroughs of Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, and Hammersmith & Fulham. We are passionate and strive to bring high quality evidence-based dietetic practice to the people who use our services and continuously seek to adapt and improve the service we provide.
The team is predominantly hybrid working with the main office at Lisson Grove Health Centre. The post will involve a combination of virtual clinics, home visits, and some face-to-face clinics. The whole team meets face to face at least once a month and virtually once a week to support communication, team building, and staff well-being.

Main duties of the job
1. Manage a caseload of enteral tube feeding patients, including those with complex health and social needs.
2. Education and training lead for enteral feeding.
3. Enteral feeding policy implementation lead.
4. Line management of dietetic Assistant practitioners.
5. Supervision and development of dietetic students.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.
* Health and Care Professions Council Registration.
* Membership of the British Dietetic Association.
* Member of Specialist Interest Group related to Nutrition Support/Enteral Feeding.
* Supervisory skills training.
* Post-registration training in Behaviour Change.
Experience
* Post-registration and previous experience in a range of clinical areas including nutrition support, home enteral feeding.
* Experience of formulating treatment plans for malnourished patients or those at risk of malnutrition adopting a food-based approach.
* Experience of recommending the use of oral nutritional supplements in line with NICE guidelines and ACBS criteria.
* Experience in managing patients requiring oral and clinically assisted nutrition support with co-morbidities.
* Experience in training/teaching healthcare professionals.
* Experience in conducting nutrition support audits, quality improvement, and/or research.
* Experience in using behaviour change techniques.
* Experience in contributing to policy, procedures, guidelines, and clinical standards development.
* Experience in working within community dietetics.
* Experience in supervising others.
Skills
* Basic IT skills – Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
* Knowledge of national policies and guidelines in relevant areas of practice such as: Nutrition Support, older adults and frailty, community gastroenterology.
