Chesnut Lodge School caters for pupils aged 2 – 16 years, with complex needs arising from physical and medical difficulties. Currently there are 85 pupils on roll. The school is well resourced and enjoys a high profile within the local community. The Governors are seeking to employ 2 dedicated, flexible Teaching Assistants with a positive attitude and a passion for working with pupils with SEN. The successful candidate should be willing and capable of supporting all age ranges and abilities throughout the school in the classroom and with other roles such as behaviour management and administering medication. Candidates should note that this role will require them to physically get into the swimming pool to support with swim sessions. This physically demanding role will require good organisational skills, a good level of competency in using IT, good literacy and numeracy skills and the ability to lead, and work effectively, both as a key member of the team and independently. The successful applicant will be required to complete appropriate training programmes, including those required to meet the physical, including intimate care, feeding and medical care needs of the students.
