Senior Employment LawyerSalary: £50,512 - £53,584 per annum (+ £3,203 annual car allowance)Location: Luton (Bedfordshire)Working: Hybrid (2 days per week days on-site)About the Senior Employment Lawyer Role:Sellick Partnership are proud to be working with an exceptional legal services team in the heart of Bedfordshire. We are looking for a Senior Employment Lawyer to join the Litigation legal team at Luton Borough Council to provide advice and representation to the Council in all areas of employment law. Luton Borough Council has a wealth of experience gained through many years of advising their clients in local government, the public sector, charities, and schools.
The team provide a wide range of legal services, delivered by specialist lawyers who understand the local government context and priorities. Key Responsibilities of the Senior Employment Lawyer role:The role will involve delivering comprehensive professional legal advice to the Borough Council and client department.
You will manage a portfolio of your own cases which will consist of, but not limited to:To act as a legal advisor to the client organisations
Providing support and advice to HR Department on employment related matters including TUPE, Redundancy, Unfair Dismissal, Discrimination, and MaternityPreparing Employment Tribunal cases and act as an advocate where required
Attend courts and tribunals undertaking advocacy where required and to represent clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties in matters regarding the areas of legal practice relevant to the post
You will have a brilliant opportunity to develop your specialism with the support of like-minded people and an experienced team around you. Ideal requirements for the Senior Employment Lawyer role will include:We are looking for candidates with previous advocacy experience and exceptional relationship building, networking, and influencing skills. You will need to be a qualified Solicitor, barrister or FCILEx with 6 years+ PQE to apply but we are open minded to speaking with candidates of all employment law backgrounds.
