We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Needs Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our supportive team at a primary school in Abbots Langley. This role will focus on supporting students with autism and behavioral challenges. The position is available for an ASAP start and offers a wonderful opportunity to work in a rewarding environment where you can truly make a positive impact on students learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one or small group support for children with autism and behavioral challenges.
* Support the development and implementation of individualized learning plans.
* Encourage and assist students with tasks and activities, helping them to engage in the curriculum.
* Monitor and record students progress and behavior, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCo.
* Assist with the creation of a supportive and safe classroom environment.
* Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the childs needs are met effectively.
* Promote independence, social skills, and emotional development in students.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with children with autism and behavioral challenges (either in a school or similar setting).
* A patient, caring, and empathetic nature with the ability to manage challenging behavior effectively.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.
* A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to working with children with special educational needs.
* Relevant qualifications in special needs education (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3) are desirable, but not essential.
