Job Description:
We are seeking applicants who are looking for a career in one of the UK's most respected mental health and learning disability trusts. This role is suited for a committed candidate wishing to pursue an application for Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR). Candidates who choose this route are well supported within the Trust.

Main Duties of the Job
The postholder's responsibilities will be to provide psychiatric services to adults with Intellectual Disabilities under the care of the community-based North and Mid Devon Intensive Assessment and Treatment Team (IATT). Regular supervision will be provided by Dr Reena Haq, Consultant Psychiatrist in Intellectual Disability (1.0WTE). The post holder will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies.
This post is currently vacant due to the previous substantive post holder commencing higher training. The post is substantive and there is no on-call responsibility.

Person Specification
Research
* Interest in maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge base.
* Enthusiasm to contribute to research on site.
Personal Skills and CPD
* Ability to communicate with clarity in spoken and written form. Flexible approach, keen to accept new challenges. Good time management. Commitment to CPD.
Qualifications
* MB BS or equivalent. GMC registration.
* Membership or Affiliateship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent.
Experience
* Has completed at least four years full-time postgraduate training or equivalent experience.
* Experience at SHO level or above in intellectual Disability Psychiatry.
Practical Arrangements and Physical
* Meets professional health requirements. Ability to be mobile across a geographical area in a timely manner.
Clinical Skills and Knowledge
* Excellent clinical skills in interviewing and assessment of patients. Ability to manage crises and act independently.
Clinical Governance
* Commitment to involvement in on-site programme of clinical governance.
