To work on the shop floor carrying out a variety of general duties associated with the manufacturing of munitions within the Radway Green facility.
The Operator is a key position with the responsibility for the production of munitions on the shop floor, carrying out a variety of tasks in any of the areas of Capping, Loading, Gauging, and Packing. It could also include support functions such as Stencilling, Strapbanding, and Auditing.
The job involves the ability to operate a variety of equipment from machinery to various hand packing and auditing tasks. This will include elements of manual handling in accordance with relevant Standard Operating Procedures, quality standards, and risk assessments.
Responsibilities:
1. Carry out all gauging and measurement as required on the job.
2. Highlight all concerns to the Process Leader, Safety reps, or Quality controllers.
3. Ensure that work undertaken adheres to relevant quality standards.
4. Support the day-to-day requirement of meeting shift delivery targets.
5. Support the area/process Performance Metric system (OEE and labour direct/indirect bookings for example).
Physical Requirements:
1. Be able to stand for the shift (8 hours).
2. Be able to lift (maximum weight for Sex 20/25kg).
3. Be able to carry objects.
4. Be able to push/pull (e.g. trolleys).
5. Be able to reach overhead and reach below.
6. Be dextrous enough to enable use of tools and gauges.
7. Be able to wear PPE to undertake tasks, including facemasks, gloves, glasses.
Work Schedule:
Full time onsite - 3 shift pattern 8 hrs mon-fri. 5 hrs Fri.
Days: 6:00 pm Friday - 6:00 am
Noons: 2:00 pm Friday - 1:00 am
Nights: 10:00 am Friday - 4:00 pm
Qualification Requirements:
1. Knowledge: Previous use of Standard Operating Procedures & risk assessments; mass production experience desirable.
2. Skills: A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work, with good attention to detail; a good communicator, with the ability to confidently articulate the current status of an area/process; the ability to be flexible in work carried out across a variety of processes on the shop floor; a good team worker, able to work within a dynamic and diverse group of people.
3. Qualifications: Fork Lift Truck licence is desirable.
