Infrastructure Engineer - Wintel & Virtualisation SME Crawley Permanent Upto £55,000 per annum At Khuda Technology, we’re proud to be working alongside a leading global organisation in the search for a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer – Wintel & Virtualisation SME. This is an exceptional opportunity for a technical specialist to join a dynamic and collaborative IT team within a large-scale, fast-paced enterprise environment. In this role, you'll serve as the subject matter expert across Windows infrastructure and virtualisation platforms, taking ownership of the end-to-end delivery, optimisation, and support of business-critical systems. Responsibilities: * Act as the SME for Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, Group Policy, and related Wintel technologies. * Design, deploy, and maintain virtualisation solutions, including VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and Hyper-V. * Lead on incident resolution, capacity management, and performance tuning of core infrastructure. * Deliver third-line support, managing escalations and resolving complex infrastructure issues. * Collaborate with security, architecture, and cloud teams to align Wintel infrastructure with organisational goals. * Champion automation initiatives using PowerShell or other scripting languages. * Maintain compliance with patching, backup, and disaster recovery procedures. * Create and manage technical documentation, SOPs, and operational guides. Skills: * Proven background in a similar Infrastructure Engineer or Wintel SME role. * Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and core Microsoft technologies. * Hands-on experience with virtualisation tools and platforms – ideally VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V. * Deep understanding of system hardening, compliance, and infrastructure security. * Comfortable supporting enterprise-scale virtual infrastructure environments with high uptime expectations. * Strong scripting skills using PowerShell to support automation and diagnostics. * Sound knowledge of ITIL methodologies, particularly incident and change management. * Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills – both written and verbal.
