As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. This is a rewarding position where you can truly make a positive impact.
Responsibilities of the SEMH Teaching Assistant:
* Support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in their academic and personal development.
* Collaborate closely with teachers and staff to foster a supportive learning environment.
* Implement individualised support plans and strategies tailored to each student's needs.
* Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive interactions among students.
* Provide one-on-one or small group support as required to enhance learning outcomes.
* Monitor and report on student progress and well-being to inform ongoing support strategies.
Requirements of the SEMH Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with children or young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young individuals.
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH support are desirable but not essential.
* Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
