We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Nurse to join our service users care team in Leominster.
This is a part time, permanent role, offering a competitive pay rate of £37.00 per hour, equivalent to £46,176 per annum, based on 24 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
Due to the complexities of his care, we are seeking an experienced childrens nurse to join his team in the role of Lead Nurse, on a permanent basis.
This is a part time, permanent role working 24 hours per week flexibly, across Monday to Sunday. This could be made up of two 12-hour shifts, or a mixture of shorter shifts.
As Lead Nurse you will play a key role in training Freddie's team of Healthcare Assistants, ensuring that they have the skills to confidently manage his clinical interventions which includes but is not limited to tracheostomy care, ventilation management and enteral feeding.
Key duties of your role will include, but are not limited to:
* Providing ongoing support and supervision to keep staff up-to-date with best practice guidelines.
* Delivering clinical training and identifying training needs.
* Liaising with MDTs and attending key meetings where required.
* Completing risk assessments where necessary.
* Carrying out care plan reviews.
In addition to this, your role will include a mixture of hands-on care, auditing and transcribing of paperwork and MAR charts, checking and ordering of stock and accompanying Freddie to his scheduled appointments.
Essential experience required:
* Current NMC PIN.
* Paediatric Registered Nurse.
* Driver with access to a vehicle.
* Ability to work flexibly across Monday to Sunday.
Experience with the following is desirable, however not essential to be successful for this role:
* Ventilation Management.
* Bowel Management.
* Cough Assist.
Knowledge of Spinal Injury care, Acquired Brain Injury care, and seizure management would also be beneficial.
