We are seeking an experienced professional to lead and manage the development and delivery of Construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil engineering disciplines along with substantial site construction management expertise and be able to effectively manage all key stakeholder relationships. Familiarity with NEC4 contracts and hands-on experience with early-stage works, design integration, engineering, and constructability are essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as Principal Contractor in accordance with CDM 2015 (Construction Design and Management) regulations including Temporary Works, ensuring that responsibilities are discharged correctly.
2. Support the Project Manager with the development of the programme to ensure all construction activities are planned and managed appropriately.
3. Support the project QHSE to ensure the highest level of health and safety throughout the construction activities.
4. Ensure construction risks are identified and managed to minimize project impact through internal review meetings and client specific safety review meetings.
5. Ensure construction information such as records and drawings are managed in accordance with Yokogawa’s Quality Management Systems.
6. Lead and manage the construction team and construction sub-contractors to successfully deliver project objectives.
7. Ensure compliance with key safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle with a specific focus on construction stages and activities.
8. Provide expertise and oversight during tender evaluations from the supply chain and oversee the development of construction estimates and manage expenditure within the agreed budget.
9. Provide construction support during commissioning phases as required.
10. Report regularly to the Project Manager and other senior leadership on progress, risks, and any issues arising.
11. Lead all construction specific meetings, workshops and discussions.
About You
1. Extensive experience in EPC projects operating under NEC4 forms of contract, with a high focus on civil and construction projects.
2. Demonstrable experience in the delivery of complex construction projects, ideally within the Oil & Gas Industry, under the CDM 2015 Regulations.
3. HND/C or Higher in a relevant discipline such as construction and or civils.
4. Proven ability to manage subcontractors and oversee site execution.
5. Strong understanding of Process Safety including extensive experience of Formal Process Safety Assessments such as HAZID, HAZOP and HAZCON.
6. Accredited CSCS certification or equivalent.

10. A good understanding of budget management and financial controls would be beneficial.
Applicants with experience of the UK’s Gas National Transmission System, Gas Construction or Utility Infrastructure projects highly desirable.

Contract type: Permanent Staff Role.
Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm. Flexibility will be required to meet customer and business needs.
Location: Based at Yokogawa’s office in Runcorn. Hybrid working pattern available based on three office and two working from home days with potential for frequent travel to project sites.
