Health and Safety Manager

£70,000 – £75,000 – Car/Car allowance
We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join our Civil Engineering and Energy clients. The role will be based in Ipswich but will require travelling to site and office, comes with a salary up to £75,000 plus car/car allowance.
Responsibilities of Health and Safety Manager
Health and Safety Manager will lead the development of a proactive health and safety culture
Promote and sustain measures to improve health and safety standards, ensuring full compliance with OHSAS 18001, health and safety legislation, and Minimum Safety Standards (MSS).
Conduct proactive site audits to address issues and drive continuous improvement.
Implement and manage an induction system
Oversee thorough investigations of accidents and incidents
Develop and maintain a Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan, ensuring it is prepared, approved, and regularly updated throughout the project lifecycle.
Introduce innovative initiatives to improve safety standards and encourage safe working practices.
Assist with preconstruction activities - tenders and Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs),
Facilitate discussions on health and safety issues, resolving conflicts to ensure optimal outcomes for the project.
Establish and monitor a schedule of weekly health and safety inspections involving operational staff, senior management, and support teams.Requirements for Health and Safety Manager
Proven track record as a Health and Safety Manager on major infrastructure projects.
Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction-related discipline.
NEBOSH or IOSH certification is essential.
Full UK Driving Licence
Safety training including Fire, Confined Spaces, First Aid, COSHH, HSG 47
