Your new role
The Head of Marketing for the UK & Ireland is a senior, strategic role responsible for leading the development and execution of the marketing strategy to drive business growth, increase market share, and enhance brand awareness in the UK and Ireland. This role involves working closely with the global marketing team to adapt and implement global strategies at the local level, while also developing country-specific campaigns that address the unique needs of the UK and Irish markets. The Head of Marketing will lead a team of marketing professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective promotion of our products.
In this role you will be reporting directly into the Managing Director, UK & Ireland.
Your New Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
* Oversee the marketing function, develop and execute the overarching marketing strategy for the Business Area in alignment with global objectives and local market needs.
* Build strong strategic alliances to ensure marketing strategies align with other departments and broader business objectives.
* Analyse market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and challenges, and adjust strategies accordingly.
* Ensure high level decision making and provide insights and updates on marketing performance, activities and budgets.
* Provide strategic input into product launches, ensuring they are effectively positioned and promoted to maximize market penetration and growth.
Team Leadership
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability to build a highly motivated team.
* Set clear objectives and performance metrics for the marketing team and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure objectives are met and employees are supported.
* Ensure effective delegation across the entire team where individuals feel empowered to do their best and to help drive business growth.
Brand Strategy and Leadership
* Oversee the development and implementation of digital and brand strategies that enhance the company's market position and align with global brand guidelines.
* Ensure consistency and compliance of brand messaging across all marketing channels and materials.
* Collaborate with the Head of Commercial Excellence to drive the adoption of new technologies, leveraging digital channels to engage customers and stakeholders.
* Lead the integration of multi-channel marketing efforts, ensuring cohesive and effective customer engagement.
* Be accountable for the effective team management of the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve strategic goals.
* Monitor the effectiveness of marketing activities, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Collaborate extensively across local and global functions and senior leadership teams to ensure alignment and support for marketing initiatives.
* Represent the UK and Ireland at a Global level to drive alignment across major EU5, Canada and other key markets.
* Engage with key external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, and industry bodies, to build relationships and enhance Lundbeck's reputation.
* Be responsible for coordination and alignment with Alliance partners for the BA.
General
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory changes and ensure marketing practices are adjusted accordingly.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including Lundbeck's internal processes and procedures, including the Lundbeck Code of Conduct.
* Any other reasonable tasks as requested when required from time to time.

The position is based in Watford, Hertfordshire.
What you bring to the team
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Life Sciences or a related field
Experience and personal qualities:
* Minimum 5-7 years' experience in Pharmaceutical Marketing with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within a commercial business.
* Strong knowledge of the UK and Irish pharmaceutical markets, including regulatory environments and healthcare systems.
* Experience working at a global and regional level, interacting with key stakeholders.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed organization and manage multiple priorities.
* High degree of emotional intelligence and the ability to communicate at different levels.
