Role Description:
As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of wireless voice, video, and data networks. This includes designing, commissioning, deploying, and maintaining wireless solutions while engaging with customers to ensure their needs are met. You will be expected to manage projects independently, liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and drive customer satisfaction and business expansion. In addition to your technical expertise, you will play a vital role in identifying sales opportunities and supporting business growth through customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Implementation: Lead the design and deployment of wireless voice, video, and data networks, ensuring solutions align with customer requirements and industry standards.
2. Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement: Oversee and manage multiple projects from inception to completion. Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, including customers, technical teams, and senior management.
3. Customer Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction. Proactively engage with clients to identify potential sales opportunities and expansion needs, supporting business development efforts.
4. Sales & Business Development: Identify and pursue opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding service offerings to existing customers. Work closely with the sales team to support revenue growth and new business generation.
5. Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and technical support to resolve complex network issues. Guide customers through resolution steps and offer long-term solutions.
6. Field Service Operations Oversight: Manage field service teams, ensuring high-quality service delivery, efficient project execution, and adherence to deadlines.
7. Site Surveys & Recommendations: Conduct in-depth site surveys, delivering expert recommendations on network improvements, enhancements, and optimizations that align with both technical and business objectives.
8. Training & Mentoring: Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring knowledge transfer and fostering team development. Educate customers on system usage, troubleshooting techniques, and best practices.
9. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation for all network deployments, system configurations, and service modifications. Prepare reports for internal and customer-facing presentations.
10. Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure service delivery remains best-in-class.
Qualifications:
1. Extensive Experience: Proven experience (5+ years) in the design, deployment, and maintenance of wireless communication networks, particularly in radio communications.
2. Technical Expertise: Strong troubleshooting and technical support capabilities in wireless networking and RF communications, with a deep understanding of network architecture and wireless technologies.
3. Customer & Stakeholder Management: Experience managing customer relationships, including interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and create solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
4. Sales & Business Acumen: Track record of identifying and capitalizing on sales opportunities, contributing to business expansion, and aligning technical services with business goals.
5. Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
6. Leadership & Mentoring: Experience leading teams, mentoring junior engineers, and guiding technical teams to successful project outcomes.
7. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, and senior management.
8. Certifications: Relevant technical certifications such as CCNA, CWNP, PMP, or similar are highly desirable.
9. Industry Experience: Previous experience working with wireless service providers or in the communications industry is a plus.
10. Travel Requirements: A full UK driving license is required as the role involves travel to customer sites.
