This role will be based at our The Merlin Hub - Basingstoke office and reports into the Senior Accountant - R2R on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid role for those looking for more flexibility in their working week. About The Role The global Record to Report team, which is responsible for accurate financial control, accounting, and reporting as per company standards, is the place to start your Merlin career. Collaborating across departments, you'll support financial reporting and promote best practices and process improvement through Visual Management techniques. Your main goals include establishing and nurturing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, overseeing financial controls and systems, and suggesting operational enhancements. Adhering to accounting policies, you'll ensure timely completion of crucial tasks and manage balance sheet accounts while conducting reviews with Finance hub managers. You'll collaborate closely with key business partners, crafting monthly journals that not only reflect the numbers but also tell a story. As part of our team, you'll be a crucial player in the accurate and timely month-end reports across our global spectrum of legal entities. Qualifications & Experience Experience working in a shared services role preferably within a similar operating model and size of organisation Fully-Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with experience Experience of month end close process Experience of working with new finance systems preferably during implementations and stabilisations Experience of process improvements and standardising finance processes Experience of stepping up to provide guidance and support to junior team members Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders Proactive individual with experience working in a flexible and changing environment Benefits We’re growing fast and alongside a fun and friendly environment, we offer a fabulous package and amazing prospects – ideal if you’re already fantastic and want to become even better (our magic can help here).
