Job Summary
To provide, lead, operationally manage and clinically supervise in an exciting service which we are delivering across Northamptonshire: the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) and Children's Wellbeing Practitioner Pathway (CWPP). We are working within schools, ensuring children and young people receive faster access to earlier mental health support.
In this role you will work with the existing MHST & CWPP Service Manager/Clinical Lead to implement the provision of a high quality Early Intervention service to children and young people (and their families) experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The service will also be offering support and guidance to education colleagues. You will jointly lead the team in delivering evidence-based interventions to support the recovery of young people referred to the service. This work will be in accordance with clinical governance processes and professional standards. You will utilise your skills and knowledge of CBT and child and adolescent mental health practice, and knowledge of whole school approaches to mental health, in order to lead the MHST.
You will ensure the 'voice of the child/young person' is pivotal in all aspects of clinical practice and development. Co-production will underpin the MHST's. This involves working with i-discover and NHFT participation team to support co-production and participation work.
Main Duties of the Job
1. To jointly lead the development of clinical pathways within MHST/CWPP.
2. To take a lead role in the development and reorganisation of teams when required.
3. To support and co-ordinate the induction of new staff.
4. To have a clinical caseload and maintain CPD.
5. To improve and develop the agreed service model, developing clinical structures, recruiting staff and operationalising the service.
6. To provide clinical supervision and supervision of supervision.
7. To assist with the continual improvement of the service, in line with National and Local initiatives, leading on agreed projects across the county.
8. To develop robust interagency relationships with key agencies supporting the development of integrated care pathways.
9. To develop and implement integrated working between community teams, specifically enhancing pathways for children, young people and parents/carers whose pathway involves more than one community team.
10. To ensure children, young people and parents/carers are included in all the work the MHT & CWPP does.
The post holder will be supporting the operational, performance and business management of MHST/CWPP. The post holder will work under the direction and line management of the Head of Service for Mental Health Services for Children and Young People, working closely with the Senior Clinical and Operational Colleagues.

Person Specification
Education
Essential:
* Relevant professional qualification at Masters level or above or equivalent e.g. Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, accredited CBT Therapist, qualification in systemic family therapy, qualification in child and adolescent psychotherapy, Nursing qualification.
* Appropriate and valid UK professional registration. This could be in psychology, systemic family therapy, psychotherapy, teaching, social work, nursing, occupational health.
Desirable:
* Mentor / Practice Educator qualification.
* Supervision qualification.
* Leadership training / qualification or working towards a qualification.
* CBT qualification.
Experience
Essential:
* Management and Leadership experience within Children's services, including understanding of clinical governance.
* Well-developed skills, knowledge and experience in developmental psychology, attachment, trauma theories and other common mental health difficulties.
Desirable:
* Working in a CAMHS setting.
* Experience of working with children with mental health/emotional needs.
