We are looking to appoint a Site Manager who is:
1. Hands on, hardworking, self-motivated, reliable and well organised.
2. Able to manage all aspects of maintenance and development of the school site.
3. Able to manage health and safety and safe running of our swimming pool. Full training will be given.
4. Able to work on own initiative.
We are prepared to be flexible for the right candidate offering either a full time 37 hours per week or 3 day 22.5 hours per week position. Although you will need to be willing to be flexible to accommodate contractor's visits to the site. There will also occasionally be a need to open for school events at weekends.
The successful applicant will need a good range of skills and experience including building and grounds maintenance, general DIY and be able to take on all areas of maintenance, cleanliness, health and safety and security.
As a member of the school team you will be expected to:
1. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
2. Have a good knowledge of health and safety, ideally with experience in a working environment to ensure statutory tests are carried out and accurate records maintained.
3. Recognise the importance of your role in safeguarding the young people and be committed to doing everything you can to improve their experiences.
4. Work as a member of the whole staff team to ensure that the young people are provided with a safe, clean and attractive learning environment which will enhance their achievement and enjoyment.
In addition, other duties will include:
1. Responsibility for the management of the security of the school site including being a primary key holder.
2. Day to day preventative and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and high quality environment for the school staff and pupils.
3. Larger maintenance jobs during school holiday periods.
4. Effective management and liaison with external contractors.
5. Day to day management of the site including working closely with the Business Manager on strategic site plans and the management of budgets, to ensure best value.
