We have an exciting opportunity for a Research and Development Actuary to join our dedicated team. Our Research & Development team focus on new product development and pricing, changes to existing products, strategic projects, providing tools to support growth in new business, provide commercial actuarial advice and support across the St. James’s Place community.
Who we are looking for:
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, a solution provider to a variety of collaborators, a natural ability for analysis, attention to detail and team ethic. A mentorship approach to sharing knowledge with junior members and strong team ethic.
Responsibilities:
* Support our senior actuaries with large projects, and lead on small and medium-sized projects: such as, implementation of enhancements to our investment propositions, new product launch or tools and regulatory changes impacting our offering.
* Create accurate illustrations, terms and conditions and product documentation for Clients and Partners.
* Provide actuarial support to various team members including the Partnership, third-party administrators and internal teams across business areas including Capital Gains Tax calculations, Critical Yield Calculations, product functionality, and illustrations.
* Liaise and nurture relationships with teams across the business and with a range of third party providers.
* Provide figures and analysis to support business decisions.
* Provide guidance, mentorship and support to our junior actuarial analysts.
Special Requirements:
* Fully Qualified or almost fully Qualified Actuary.
* Practical knowledge and experience of the UK Finance Marketplace.
* Understanding of regulations and legislation of the UK Wealth Products.
* Excel and MS Skills, knowledge of PowerBi and 'R' would also hold an advantage.
