What skills and experience we're looking for
A leadership development opportunity…
For April 2025, we are seeking to appoint a talented teacher with a passion for Chemistry, to join our skilled, enthusiastic and very well-resourced Science Department to cover a period of maternity leave. The successful candidate will support the leadership of a friendly, ambitious and collaborative team where new ideas are welcome and good practice is willingly shared. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated teacher who wishes to develop their leadership skills and really make a difference to the pupils in their care. Applications are invited from creative and ambitious colleagues who can make a positive contribution to our continuous school improvement.
What the school offers its staff
Hyde High School is a co-educational 11-16 school with approximately 1150 pupils on roll. This is a proudly multicultural school with almost a third of pupils having Bangladeshi heritage and typically thriving at Hyde. The school serves two of the most deprived wards in Tameside and a large proportion of pupils are supported by Pupil Premium funding. SMSC is a strength and permeates our school; positive relationships underpin our harmonious and aspirational ethos. Pastoral systems are strong and a wide variety of support measures are effectively employed to enable pupils to access learning.
Hyde is proud to be an educationally inclusive school, one in which the teaching and learning, achievements, attitudes and well-being of every young person matter. We have a strong, committed and stable staff team; a low staff turnover speaks volumes about the well-resourced working environment and positive culture within our school.
This really is a great opportunity to work alongside an experienced and inspirational Subject Leader to drive forward the Chemistry curriculum at Hyde. If you feel that you are ready to take on a new challenge, fully guided by talented colleagues, we would be delighted to hear from you.
