POSITION SUMMARY:
Join Alexander Dennis as a Field Service Engineer in Scotland and help us shape the future of eco-friendly transport! You'll be responsible for keeping our cutting-edge buses on the road, diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues, performing both reactive and preventative maintenance, and ensuring all paperwork is completed efficiently. We're seeking someone with experience in buses or heavy vehicles, skilled in electrical diagnostics and mechanical repairs, and ready to take on a flexible, hands-on role. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
* Ensure maximum vehicle availability for our customers throughout Scotland.
* Diagnose problems and complete repairs in a health and safety conscious manner.
* Perform reactive and preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on the whole vehicle.
* Complete paperwork (such as service worksheets, timesheets and warranty claims), ensuring that jobs can be closed and invoiced in a timely manner.
* Maintain a fully equipped van with tools and parts on a daily basis.
* Work a 40-hour week, with hours of operation typically between 05:00-20:00.
* Learn about various vehicle drivelines, including battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell, diesel and diesel hybrid.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
* Experience in the maintenance and repair of buses or heavy goods vehicles, including body, electrical, and mechanical or a complete PSV or HGV apprenticeship.
* Electrical diagnostic skills, ideally using Multiplex systems.
* Comfortable with diagnosing and repairing engines, transmission issues, and compressed air systems.
* Time served PCV/LGV Technician with a recognised qualification such as City & Guilds, BTEC or similar or equivalent experience.
* Dependable, punctual, and reliable with a customer focused mindset.
* Excellent self-organising and planning skills.
* A degree of flexibility is required and additional hours worked will receive overtime payment.
* Computer literate and able to use Microsoft packages.
* A Full UK Driving License.
