The team focuses on a cross-functional engineering discipline, addressing the business and technical needs of customers by providing a quality product. The Flexible Pipe Systems business supplies specialist unbonded flexible subsea flowline and riser systems globally, innovating in the energy industry and connecting subsea and surface with industry-leading technology.
Partner with the best
As a Machine Shop Technician (d/f/m), you will work within the machine shop team manufacturing internal parts for flexible pipe end fittings. You will operate and program CNC and manual lathes and milling machines and support production engineering in manufacturing bespoke designs.
You will be responsible for:
* Reading and checking Engineering Drawings
* Following written SOI, COI’s, and verbal instructions while liaising and communicating effectively with engineers and management
* Managing to reverse engineer supplied parts (for rework/replacement purposes)
* Using a range of machining equipment and power tools like manual & CNC lathes and milling machines
* Using a range of machining equipment and power tools like surface grinding/bench fitting
* Demonstrating and collaborating with creative ideas for more effective working practices
* Taking an active lead on incorporating safety improvements, lean improvements, and Kaizen improvement
* Leading HSE initiatives while following the Baker Hughes safety culture

To be successful in this role you will:
* Have successfully completed your Vocational Training as a Mechanical Technician/Tool Maker; apprenticeship graduates are equally welcome
* Be experienced in Microsoft Office and able to learn new technology and software quickly
* Have a safety-focused attitude
* Be able to operate overhead cranes (training will be provided)
