SEN Primary Teacher
* Full time
* Permanent placement
* September 2024 start
Long-Term teachers are working with a fantastic specialist school based in Taunton who support students from 8 to 18 who have specific learning needs. You will be working full time, Monday to Friday from 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only.
About the school
This is an independent day and special school (DfE registered) which provides individualised and tailored programmes of studies drawing upon our three phase intent curriculum model. They specialise in supporting students with a range of learning needs, including social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH), Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), including Asperger’s syndrome, ADHD, attachment related and associated behaviours that challenge. All of the students have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) and require additional support to that which is provided in a mainstream setting.
About the role
As the key stage 2 and 3 teacher, you will be expected to plan, deliver and mark lessons to students, supported within the class by experienced LSA’s. The school looks to recruit teachers who are passionate about providing the best quality teaching, able to bring positivity, patience and a great sense of humour. It is essential you have at least 2 years experience working with children, particularly those with SEN. We are seeking an enthusiastic applicant, who has a genuine passion for working with children and puts their well-being at the heart of everything. It is desirable that you have a Level 2 or 3 qualification, in addition to further qualifications regarding SEN; however, this is not essential as training may be provided.
