ABOUT THE TEAM The Credit Investments team focuses on direct, non-investment grade credit investment solutions, in both private and public markets. Our global team is represented in New York, London and Montreal and invests in large positions across the capital structure in revolving credit facilities, loans, bonds, preferred equity and rescue finance. As of March 31st, 2024, Credit Investment’s portfolio stood at CAD$26.2 billion. Since inception in late 2015, the team has invested in more than 100 transactions across a diversified portfolio. We’re seeking a Senior Analyst or Associate, Credit Investments in London to contribute towards the growth and management of PSP’s Credit Investments (CI) portfolio in Europe. The Senior Analyst or Associate will be an active member of the CI team on all aspects of the private debt lending process and monitoring including investment screening, financial modelling and accounting analysis, industry and sector analysis, transaction due diligence, participation in investment decision process, assisting with the drafting of legal documentation, preparation of investment recommendation memos and post-lending portfolio monitoring. ABOUT YOUR ROLE As a Senior Analyst or Associate, Credit Investments, you will broadly focus in two core areas: Investment Analysis and Conducting Transactions: Perform preliminary analysis of CI investment opportunities: review marketing materials, public information, analyze existing credit documents and review equity, fixed income and ratings reports Participate in due diligence of CI investments, identify key investment merits and risks, meet with management teams, review data-room documentation and third-party reports Build detailed financial models, including running downside scenarios, review of financial projections Participate in the preparation of investment recommendation memorandums for investment approval Participate in the presentation of investment proposals to the Investment Committee Develop relationships and liaise with investment professionals at CI’s partner firms Interface with Legal, Risk and Tax groups in the review of proposed investments Monitoring & Administration of Investments: Review monthly, quarterly and annual (as applicable) financial report packages from portfolio companies and explain variance vs. underwritten cases; and track performance vs. internal Risk Management Group (“RMG”) guidelines Prepare periodic reports and undertake various analyses on portfolio status and performance Identify and assess opportunities on the secondary market Interface with Accounting and Internal Control department as required Any other tasks as may be required WHAT YOU’LL NEED Two (2) to four (4) years of experience performing the above tasks at a similar Credit fund, Leveraged Finance or Investment Banking Direct credit investing experience is considered an asset Excellent financial and accounting analytical skills Very good attention to detail and presentation of information Superior level of proficiency with business software and analytical tools English required, bilingualism an asset Business or comparable university degree with high academic standing Professional designation: completed final level of CFA is considered an asset We offer a tailored employee experience and competitive total rewards and benefits package designed to attract and retain global diverse talent, reward performance, and reinforce business strategies and priorities.
