If so, we’d love to hear from you About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school in Plymouth. In this role, you will work closely with children with a range of additional needs, helping to create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Supporting children with SEN on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Assisting class teachers in adapting lessons and resources to meet individual needs. Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to ensure effective communication. Providing emotional and social support to help children thrive. Supporting with off-site educational visits and ensuring all pupils are included. Essential Requirements: Proven experience working with children, ideally within an SEN setting. A genuine passion for working with children with additional needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A valid driving license and access to a car. Business insurance on your vehicle (essential for transporting pupils or traveling for work purposes). A willingness to undergo a DBS check (or already have one on the update service). Desirable Skills: Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. Knowledge of SEN strategies and approaches (e.g., PECS, Makaton, or sensory integration).
