About the Role and Responsibilities:
The Purchase and Sales Ledger Clerk is a role essential to the seamless running of the Finance Department, particularly important in its role as a business support unit to the whole of Wales Millennium Centre, from the Theatre and Artistic Programming departments to the Security and Venue Operations teams.
You will be responsible for transactional tasks within the finance team, including:
* Ensuring purchase invoices, employee expenses and employee debit card transactions are posted to the finance system in a timely manner.
* Setting up new suppliers on the finance system, maintaining the preferred supplier list and communicating with staff when renewals are required.
* Raising ad-hoc BACS payments as they arise.
* Processing sales invoices as required, including regular invoicing to partners.
Other duties will include:
* Performing credit control, analysing aged debtors and debt chasing as required.
* Supporting the team at Month End and Year End.
* Being a point of cover for other finance roles when necessary and appropriate.
Your role will be subject to a DBS check.
Key Requirements:
The successful candidate will be AAT qualified (part qualified considered) or qualified by experience. Good communication skills are required to liaise with the rest of the finance team and the various members of staff in the wider organisation. The successful candidate will also be comfortable with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and will have experience of using financial software.
