Dales Marine is excited to announce that applications for their highly esteemed apprenticeship programme are now being accepted. We are recruiting for two Mechanical Engineer Apprentices.
Apprentices are welcomed into a four-year apprenticeship programme. This structured initiative entails two years of training, a blend of on-site experience at Dales Marine and academic coursework, and an additional two years of site-focused training.

Job Requirements
1. Apprentice engineers are required to assist in the planning, preparation and undertaking of maintenance and repair projects to agreed timescales.
2. Apprentices will work alongside experienced engineers to assist in the development of their skills and knowledge for the first two years, with further responsibility in the third year, and ultimately taking a lead position in some work tasks during their fourth year.
3. Apprentices may carry out other duties from time to time during their working day, these duties will be part of the daily dry dock operations and all apprentices will receive full training before they commence this work.
4. Apprentices will be required to work on vessels or in large workshops, indoors or outdoors in all weather conditions.
5. During their daily duties they would receive instruction in the following tasks and then, once confident and competent to do so, carry out routine maintenance and repairs on vessels, install, fit, assemble, and repair marine equipment, engines, mechanical plant, and industrial equipment.
6. Apprentice applicants should have National 5 Maths and English. Science or Technical subject would be advantageous.
7. Apprentice engineers have a standard 39-hour week, but overtime and weekend work are often available.
8. Apprentice engineers will be required to attend North East Scotland College on a part time basis as part of their Modern Apprenticeship.
