Support Worker (Female only candidates) – Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire
Zero hours – Bank – 1-2 shifts per month – Evenings and Weekends
£12.94 per hour day rate and National living wage sleep rate
This bank role would be a good accompaniment to someone looking for additional hours alongside their current role or education.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and caring candidate to work with our client.
Our client lives in her own property in Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, adjoined to her family’s home including parents and sibling. She has a brain injury, cerebral palsy, and learning disability. She needs 24-hour supervision and prompting for activities of daily living, but likes to do as much for herself as possible. Due to requiring personal care, our client prefers female-only candidates to uphold her privacy and decency. This is therefore an occupational requirement under the Equality Act, 2010.
Our client is sociable and enjoys accessing the community and meeting people. She enjoys conversations and banter, working in a charity shop 3 times a week, walking groups, TV and especially Disney and Marvel films, being read to, theatre shows, concerts, and a variety of music. She enjoys playing computer games and would like someone who could play these with her. She enjoys day trips and holidays, so we are looking for someone who likes planning trips and exploring new places.
We are looking to recruit someone who can work flexibly and join the team to support the client to live a life full of fun, adventure, and care.
Our client works with a case manager, as well as a team of support staff. Our support staff work 1:1 with the client and we have robust measures in place to ensure that each staff member feels well supported. These measures include regular team meetings, handovers, supervisions, appraisals, and open communication with the Case Manager and support team. This is a warm and friendly team who are welcoming of new team members.
This is a bank role to help cover planned leave for the support team and could include cover for short breaks where 2:1 staffing is in place. We are looking for someone who can join the team to help promote our client’s confidence and opportunities to fulfil her life.
If you can lead with a genuine smile and have an ability to connect with others, you’ll be well on your way to fitting into our team. If you are resilient, confident, and can think on your feet, whilst ensuring you provide safe, person-centred support, then we want to hear from you.
