The company:
An established, multibillion-pound turnover, heavy engineering machinery design and manufacturing firm with a large facility in the heart of Tyrone. They are a large global employer who internationally supply their product which is used for rock processing; covering crushing, screening, breaking, and demolition. They offer an interesting, challenging role with job stability in a positive culture of collaboration towards common goals.
The role:
* Overall Assembly / Build and Paint Shop operations across a multi-building site with a total operational team approaching 60 staff (Operating to a level of shifts patterns on the floor) – The site has a total staff count around 200.
* Directly responsible for two experienced Production Managers: One Production Manager oversees one factory that has a higher volume monthly output (more modular) while the other Manager oversees two other factories on site; one that has a powder coating paint shop and one that includes very bespoke machinery manufacturing with a lower output per month.
* Management of Shift Supervisors and Quality Engineers.
* Position is a Senior Strategic Position and requires accountability, the ability to effectively manage teams, work to KPI’s and expected outputs, operate to H&S as well as quality standards, manage budgets responsibly as well as justify capex spends.
* Working closely with various internal managerial stakeholders including (but not limited to) Procurement, Finance, Logistics, CI, Sales, and Planning.
* The role reports to the Global Operations Director.
* A minimum of 5 years’ management experience over similar operations environments - Applicants are welcome from a wide range of relatable manufacturing backgrounds.
* A relevant / relatable third-level qualification.
* Experience of managing larger production teams / operations – mentoring, developing, and promoting cross-functional collaboration and a high-performing team culture.
* Proven experience of working within lean environments (such as 5S, VSM, and TPM etc.) with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
* Proven ability in working closely with finance, budgets, and capital expenditure.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage both above and below, as well as across various stakeholders.
* A strategic thinker with the ability to work to long-term goals.
* Ability to report to board level.
