Exciting opportunities for trainees in Anaesthesia to do something different: Clinical Development Fellow in Anaesthesia.
We will consider applicants seeking to work less-than-full-time. The post would suit an individual seeking Out of Programme for Experience (OOPE). The post will include the provision of out-of-hours Anaesthetic services at Kings Mill Hospital under the supervision of Consultants in Anaesthetics.
You will have a named educational supervisor. 25% of time will be for supporting non-clinical activity e.g. research, training, education, administration, project work, meetings, etc. 75% will be clinical, including on-call commitment. In addition, you will have 10 days of study leave allowance and a study budget
Participate in the provision of an emergency Anaesthetic service and take part in the on-call rota.
This includes:
• Resuscitation, stabilisation and intubation of critically unwell patients outside of the operating theatre environment
• Assessing critically unwell patients referred for Critical Care admission in the Emergency Department and wards
• Transfer level 2/3 patients safely (intra and inter-hospital)
• Participate in the educational and clinical governance within the department
• Participate in continuing professional development activities in order to maintain knowledge and skill
• Maintain professional standards and obligations as set out by the General Medical Council (GMC) and comply in
particular with the GMC’s guidance on ‘Good Medical Practice’
• Provision of a service to Sherwood Forest Hospitals, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the department
• Cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorised absences
• Responsibilities for carrying out teaching duties as required and contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate and
continuing medical education activity
