Hospital Housekeeper

We are currently looking for a reliable and dedicated Hospital Housekeeper who will embody our commitment to excellence and help maintain the exceptional standards our patients, visitors, and staff expect.

Hours: 37.5 per week.
Shifts: The housekeeping team rotate through the following shift times according to the needs of the business:
* 05:30 13:30
* 06:00 14:00
* 14:00 22:00
These are worked on a rota basis and include occasional weekend shifts.
Hospital Housekeeper
As a Hospital Housekeeper, you will report to the Patient Services Lead and play an essential role in supporting the hospitals commitment to high standards of care and comfort.
You will ensure that excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene are both achieved and maintained at all times.
As a key member of this vital team, you will be charged with all aspects of cleaning within all clinical and communal areas and consultation rooms. This will include infection control and quality assurance.
This critical role is key to the safety and well being of our patients and team members.
The role will involve:
* Cleaning common areas, patient rooms and bathrooms to the required standards;
* Cleaning Theatres, DSU, Outpatients, Imaging, and other non-Ward areas of the hospital to the required standards using the methods and materials outlined in the Housekeeping Handbook;
* Ensuring cleaning materials are used according to the relevant COSHH requirements;
* Working within infection control guidelines at all times when working within clinical areas of the hospital
* Replenishing linen and toiletries, etc. as directed.
Qualifications
* GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent qualification
Experience
* Ideally you will have experience within a cleaning / housekeeping or a hygiene based role where you have worked to deadlines and within set guidelines.
* You will need high attention to detail with the ability to follow instruction working with minimal supervision on occasions..
* Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and be able to work alone using initiative when required.
Skills
* Flexibility to respond to the needs of the department, including shift adjustments where needed.
* Excellent customer care skills with a friendly and compassionate approach.
* Enthusiastic, passionate, and a good team player with a collaborative approach to achieving goals
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Patient orientated with a focus on continuous service improvement
* Energetic, achievement focused and willing to work hard under pressure
Desirables
* Housekeeping experience in a hospital environment.
* Knowledge of COSHH regulations would be an advantage - though full training will be provided.

Patients receive fast access to appointments with specialist Consultants, diagnostic imaging and treatment for a range of health concerns. Our private hospital has been designed with the latest technology and with patient care at its heart.
In September 2023, we joined with Phoenix Hospital Group, a leading London based private healthcare group. Phoenix provide exceptional patient centred care with three state-of-the-art medical facilities in the Harley Street Medical Precinct in Central London and one in Chelmsford, Essex.
One Ashford is next door to the William Harvey Hospital and is close to junction 10 of the M20. Parking is available and is ideally located for candidates living in and around the Ashford area.
