The Role:
We are looking for an ambitious and proactive Business Development Manager to drive new business opportunities and build lasting client relationships. In this role, you will play a key part in generating leads, developing client relationships, and supporting the commercial team to grow our business.
This position requires a self-starter who is comfortable with outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and social media engagement. You'll identify local and national opportunities and collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth client onboarding and excellent service delivery within the given region.
Responsibilities:
1. Generate leads and identify new business opportunities across all services.
2. Create and drive revenue growth through strategic client acquisition.
3. Develop compelling proposals tailored to client needs.
4. Support the commercial team with opportunities and projects as required.
5. Prepare weekly sales reports and monthly board updates, including:
1. CRM pipeline analysis
2. ROI on lead generation streams
3. Hot leads
4. Updates on new clients and trading amounts
5. Non-trading clients
6. Conduct cold calls and canvass for leads.
7. Ensure all client interactions meet the highest standards of client experience.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date administrative records.
9. Explore and trial new marketing and sales methodologies to enhance business growth.
10. Adhere to company policies and maintain the highest standards of professionalism.
Key Performance Indicators:
1. Monthly new sales generation
2. ROI on leads versus revenue achieved
3. Cold call activity and appointments booked
4. Accuracy and timeliness of weekly sales reporting
5. Business revenue growth
Requirements:
1. Experience in a sales or business development role, preferably in logistics, e-commerce, or fulfilment sectors.
2. Proven ability to generate leads and close sales.
3. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
4. Comfortable with cold calling and overcoming objections.
5. Proficiency in using CRM systems and other sales tools.
6. A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle (fuel for business use covered).
7. Self-motivated and results-oriented with a proactive approach.
8. £30,000 for experienced sales professional.
9. £25,000 for junior sales executives with some experience.
10. Uncapped commission structure: To be discussed in interview.
