The Opportunity The Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (DMLRO) supports the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in ensuring compliance with financial crime and fraud regulations. Your Responsibilities: Deputising for the MLRO: Deputising for the MLRO in their absence. Internal reporting: Drafting of internal Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) reporting requirements, including regular MI, monthly AFC Committee meeting materials, Annual MLRO Report, Firmwide AFC Risk Assessment, etc. External reporting: Ensuring that suspicious transactions and events are recorded and assessed promptly. This may include submitting Suspicious Activity Reports, Sanctions or Financial Crime reports to the National Crime Agency (NCA), HMRC, Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI), Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Payments Services Regulator (PSR), UK Finance, PayUK, etc. Designing and developing policies: Leading the design and development of policies and standards for financial crime and fraud risk management. Staying up to date: Keeping colleagues informed of legal and regulatory changes, and ensuring staff understand their compliance obligations. Liaising with stakeholders: Representing the organization to internal and external stakeholders. Producing reports: Preparing MLRO reports, which may include monitoring for new risks, products, and regulations. Reviewing accounts: Reviewing accounts and transactions to identify suspicious activity. Training: Preparing and maintaining records of AML department training. Audits: Supporting the MLRO during internal and external reviews of AFC processes by auditors, regulators (FCA/PSR), partners (banks, card partners (Mastercard/Visa), industry partners (Pay.UK, UK Finance). The DMLRO should have a thorough understanding of UK financial crime regulations and legal requirements. They should also have excellent communication and organizational skills, and be able to build rapport with stakeholders.
