SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant Location: Eastleigh Start Date: Immediate Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time Salary Scale: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience) GSL Education are currently seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant for a vibrant school in Eastleigh. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering focused support to students with a range of special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include working closely with class teachers, developing tailored learning strategies, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant: Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students Deliver one-on-one and small group support, adapting resources to suit individual needs Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to assess students’ progress and adjust learning strategies accordingly Promote positive behaviour and a safe learning environment Support students with their physical, social, and emotional needs in alignment with school policies Required Qualifications for an SEN Teaching Assistant: Proven experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally in a school setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of SEN best practices and familiarity with UK safeguarding and child protection regulations Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to undergo a new check As an ethical, inclusive, and independent recruitment agency, GSL Education are committed to providing quality teaching and support staff in schools across the UK.
