This is a fantastic opportunity for a tutor who really wants to make a difference to the lives of young people. Our single goal is ‘Students First’ and you will be joining a strong team of professionals working to this sole aim. The maths department at Outwood Academy Danum has 11 purpose classrooms based in our brand new building, each equipped with an interactive TV to support the delivery of lessons. You will be joining a strong department that ranges in experience from ECT2 to more than 20 years experience and members of the senior leadership team. We also benefit from an already existing one to one tutor who offers intervention to students. The vision of the maths department is to develop our students into mathematicians who enjoy the subject and continue to study the subject beyond 16. We are seeking candidates with secure knowledge of the secondary Mathematics curriculum, with the ability to deliver knowledge and skills to small groups and on a one to one basis. With good knowledge One to One tutors will rapidly accelerate students' understanding that will support them in more regular lessons. Whilst this role is advertised as typically part-time, there is an element of flexibility in assigning hours, to best meet the needs of the academy curriculum, this may vary through the course of the academic year, but will be discussed as part of the application process. We welcome applications from people who: • hold qualified teacher status, or are a qualified HE or FE teacher; or • are able to demonstrate a track record of effective teaching; or • are able to demonstrate that you can work with individual pupils to progress their learning; or • have subject specific knowledge. You will be well supported by an experienced team of teachers and Directors as you work to raise attainment levels and offer an engaging curriculum experience that focuses on teaching for understanding.
