As the Policy & Member Engagement Officer for RCN Scotland you will use your focused attitude to support influencing on behalf of the organisation. Your analytic and communication skills will contribute to a small but highly effective team.
In this varied role every day will be different. You will organise member engagement events, draft policy papers, respond to Bills and contribute to the delivery of our campaigns. We'll look to you to build external relationships, draft consultation responses, put together briefings and communicate our messages to members and the wider world. It's a great way to build on your skills and experience and develop your potential.
As our Policy & Member Engagement Officer you’ll be at the heart of a team working to influence and improve health and social care in Scotland.
To join us you’ll be experienced in writing for different audiences and in influencing. You will have knowledge of health and social care policy in Scotland including the legislative process.
You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and demonstrate initiative by taking personal ownership of projects and prioritising your workload. You should have a systematic and committed approach to work, with a working knowledge of MS Office.

*We offer a competitive pay structure with annual pay progression until you reach the top of the salary scale. We normally offer new employees the first point of the salary range, although you may be able to negotiate a higher starting salary depending on your skills, experience, and current salary.

Our hybrid working model allows for up to 60% of your working time to be carried out from home. At least 40% of your working time will be spent working in person.
