York College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Hairdressing Tutor to join our dynamic team from August 2025. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning, with the opportunity to share your expertise in barbering, and media hair and makeup-both of which would be distinct advantages. You will: • Teach and assess learners across Levels 1 - 3 Hairdressing • Use your industry expertise to deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that reflect current fashion trends and industry practices • Support and inspire students to achieve their full potential by providing excellent guidance and feedback • Contribute to the development of innovative and relevant learning materials • Play an active role in shaping the curriculum to meet evolving industry standards. About the Person We are looking for someone who: • Has proven experience in hairdressing, with barbering qualifications and/or experience in the media, hair and makeup industry being highly advantageous • Stays up to date with current fashion trends and techniques, bringing creativity and innovation into the classroom • Is adaptable, flexible, and committed to enabling students to be the best they can be • Demonstrates excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach • Holds teaching and assessor qualifications, or is willing to work towards these.
