Could you be the supportive and inspiring presence a child with SEN needs to succeed? If so, GSL Education are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a supportive school in Tonbridge where you will play a crucial role in empowering students with additional learning needs.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to provide tailored support to children with additional needs. Your role will be vital in helping students overcome challenges and engage fully in their learning. Patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills are key to success in this role.
Responsibilities of the SEN TA:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with special educational needs.
Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and learning strategies.
Support students in developing social and communication skills.
Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to create an inclusive learning environment.
Help manage behaviour effectively using positive reinforcement techniques.
Encourage independence and confidence in students.
Assist with personal care needs, where necessary.
Requirements of the SEN TA:
Experience working with SEN students is desirable but not essential.
