Due to continued growth and market development, we are now seeking to appoint a Supervisor (Engineer) - Multi Skilled, to be field based covering the AB and DD postcode areas. Job Purpose: In this dynamic and multifaceted role, you will be a cornerstone of our engineering operations, providing essential support to the Field Line Manager. You’ll lead a diverse team of engineers, ensuring the seamless delivery of all engineering services within KPI guidelines. This position offers a blend of leadership, technical expertise, and strategic planning, making it ideal for a proactive and motivated individual ready to make a significant impact. Key Accountabilities Create an environment where engineers are motivated to achieve their best, leading by example with a strong commitment to excellence. Work closely with the Field Line Manager to develop and implement strategies that promote continuous improvement and enhance team efficiency. Provide mentorship and training to team members, helping them develop their technical skills and fostering a culture of ongoing learning and development Assist in the induction of new team members, ensuring they are fully prepared with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles Actively participate in engineering tasks, providing practical, on-the-ground support and troubleshooting complex systems, products, and issues Offer over-the-phone technical assistance to team members, helping them resolve challenges swiftly and efficiently Regularly conduct health and safety audits within the engineering team, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with safety regulations Develop and enforce action plans to address any safety concerns, maintaining a safe working environment for all team members Monitor and ensure that all engineering tasks are completed to the highest standards, meeting both customer expectations and business objectives Serve as the primary communication link between field operations and the office, ensuring clear and consistent information flow Facilitate feedback from the field to management, helping to refine processes and improve service delivery Plan and schedule work assignments, effectively organising personnel and material resources to meet project timelines and objectives In addition to the Supervisory accountabilities, you will also have an element of Engineer responsibilities, such as; To ensure that all equipment and services are maintained and operated in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety To monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment. Record inspection reports To keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work To have working knowledge of statutory regulations and to ensure awareness of all safety procedures To undertake electrical repairs and installations as appropriate To maintain and service fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems (Ansul R102) To report any defects at time of service visit To carry out works specified To be responsible for vehicle and stock control of materials To complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time Training Provided Ideally, you will have experience of the servicing and maintenance of electrical fire systems equipment, such as GENT, Notifier Advanced, Kentec. If you also have experience of Ansul R102 systems and servicing Fire Extinguishers, that’s great, but if not and you have the right aptitude and some of the right skills, we can train you in the rest About You Some demonstrable Fire Industry experience is preferred Ideally FIA qualifications Possibly City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 qualification or equivalent IEE 18th Edition Regulations would be ideal Some experience of electrical fire life safety works, within the services sector would be great Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Sound knowledge of contract terms and pricing People management skills Ability to create and build strong relationships, with a professional approach Full UK driving licence Able to work at heights of up to 3 metres and lift weights of up to 25kg Ability to meet deadlines.
