JOB PURPOSE
The Deodorants category is a key part of the Unilever Personal Care Business Group. With a family of Power Brands – Rexona, Dove, Axe – which are critical growth drivers of the company.
This role will be the key CTI & Claims partner of the Head of Rexona Innovation & Sweat Management consumer benefit platform.
The role holder will be responsible for leading claims for our Rexona Brand, maximizing our technology through compelling claims, brought to life through outstanding activations (e.g., demos) – all with appropriate claims support, including executing technical, human panel, clinical or consumer testing. The role holder will also be responsible for bringing new insight to support Rexona innovation and the Sweat management CBP.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Deliver all consumer insight & testing needs for Rexona innovation projects, which may entail designing Consumer Insight plans, validating consumer perceivable differences in new technologies & new research to unlock new insights on benefit/formats leading to new ideas, concepts, or projects.
2. Deliver SP&E programme for Rexona brands, and identify improvement opportunities to drive superiority, ensuring test design & data quality follows best practice outlined by CTI capability.
3. Lead the planning & execution of the technical claims programme for a portfolio of global Rexona projects using a range of tools to maximize the product story, bringing innovation to life for consumers.
4. Deliver claims substantiation and defense strategies, providing outstanding communications for our innovations that are robustly supported with technical and consumer evidence, with full alignment of critical business partners (e.g., marketing, legal, regulatory).
5. Support competitor challenge activities by providing guidance, leadership, and R&D points of view on competitor claims challenges inbound and outbound.
6. Lead consumer insights to inform and underpin the programme of work being led from Sweat Management CBP through to the brand, including leading SUPs and refining work on ‘growth spaces’ relevant to Rexona & Sweat Management CBP.
7. In partnership with CTI Capability & Clinicals team, ensure appropriate protocols & methodologies are developed to validate a spectrum of Sweat Management technologies – including Aluminium & Non-Aluminium.
8. Partner with Deodorants Futures manager to provide insights behind growth spaces to support novel innovation ideas to drive category growth opportunities.
9. Be a key member of Claims & CTI COP to drive consistency, best practice & sharing of learnings & know-how, and drive skills & talent development of your Claims & CTI Team.
ALL ABOUT YOU
1. Established experience in deodorants design, with extensive knowledge of category fundamentals.
2. Strong understanding of sensory/clinical/consumer research, and the fundamental requirements for claims substantiation in FMCG (Deo’s preferably).
3. A consumer-first mindset, with a track record of bringing insight to the heart of brands & innovations.
4. A creative thinker, with the ability to inspire ideas from insights and spot opportunities for superior claims.
5. Ability to form excellent partnerships with internal (e.g., marketing, legal) & external partners (e.g., agencies).
