Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
PHARMACY PIPC CHECKING TECHNICIAN (BAND 5) - developing the Cleanroom supervision role
Due to extra funding, we have more than one post available. One of the posts will be to lead on stock control and management.
An exciting opportunity to join the busy Pharmacy Technical Services Department has arisen at Cheltenham General Hospital. This post is based at Cheltenham General Hospital but may involve some cross-site working at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. As part of a regional cancer centre, our Section10 aseptic services unit prepares chemotherapy for patients from Gloucestershire and the surrounding area, including involvement in a variety of clinical trials. The unit also supplies adult PN for both sites.
We have vacancies for skilled, motivated, and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technicians who are ready to take on an exciting post within the busy Technical Services Department at Cheltenham General Hospital. Candidates will need relevant qualification (and be registered with The General Pharmaceutical Council if appropriate).
We would consider an experienced Band 4 Technician without PIPC with the potential to progress to Band 5 upon completion of PIPC training. Previous aseptic experience would be desirable.
The successful candidates will be expected to undertake the cleanroom supervisor course if not already completed.

2. To perform pre and in-process checks in TPN.

4. To complete worksheets, assemble raw materials, and generate labels for all aseptically prepared products.
5. To print and complete all paperwork checks on TPN prescriptions.
6. Training and supervision of new staff.
