Hours: Full-Time (7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday)

Are you a nurturing and experienced early years professional with a passion for working with babies and toddlers? Little Sunshines Day Care and Preschool is seeking a compassionate and skilled Baby Room Leader to create a warm, engaging environment for our youngest learners.
About Us:
Established in 2018, Little Sunshines Day Care and Preschool provides exceptional care for children aged 6 months to 5 years. Our nursery, which accommodates up to 50 children, follows the Curiosity Approach to promote hands-on learning and natural development. With forest school-trained staff and a team of 12 highly qualified professionals, we are committed to inspiring young minds.
Your Role as a Baby Room Leader:
As the Baby Room Leader, you’ll lead a team to deliver outstanding care for children aged 6 months to 3 years. You will ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, fostering each child’s emotional and developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Room Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the baby room, ensuring high standards of care and education.
2. Planning & Development: Create and implement age-appropriate activities and routines that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
3. Team Management: Lead and support room staff, fostering a collaborative and caring team dynamic.
4. Parent Partnerships: Build trusting relationships with families, providing regular updates on their child’s progress and milestones.
5. Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment that reflects the Curiosity Approach.
6. Compliance: Ensure all safeguarding, health, and safety procedures are followed.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Qualifications: Minimum Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent); higher qualifications are desirable.
2. Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with babies and toddlers, with some leadership responsibilities.
3. Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, child development, and the needs of children under 3.
4. Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
5. Passion: A genuine love for working with babies and a commitment to providing outstanding care.
6. Desirable: Training or experience with the Curiosity Approach or forest school ethos is an advantage.
