Moreover, we continue to lead our industry in terms of standards and safety. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Bison Design team in the position of Draughtsperson. This position is to provide details, designs and schedules for our range of precast concrete products and related ancillaries. The Drafter will be trained to specialise in Discipline 3 : Bespoke Large Concrete Units. Additional training may also be provided in other disciplines of the technical services design office as deemed necessary by the business. Focusing on high levels of customer service the role will gather and correctly interpret our clients’ requirements to achieve the timely issue of designs and schedules ensuring programme requirements are met. Your duties would include but not limited to the following: DESIGNS – Production of accurate and cost effective designs of Precast elements using our “in house” design packages. DETAILING – Timely and accurate production of drawings using our CAD design packages. SCHEDULING – Timely and accurate issuing of schedules to ensure internal and external programme requirements are met. LIAISON – Have a strong telephone manner to contact & discuss with external parties to establish design requirements, resolve technical queries. With internal works managers and supervisors regarding non-standard details. PROJECT MANAGEMENT – Communicate with all parties to ensure drawings issued, approved and scheduled to meet project schedule. Ensure all communication recorded and stored in relevant locations. CONTRACT VARIATIONS – Identification, evaluation and agreement of project variations. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT – Contribute to improvements in business processes and procedures. DEVELOPMENT – Assist in the development of systems within the Drawing Office. INFORMATION – Record relevant KPI’s to enable individual and team performances to be collated. COMMUNICATION – Effective, regular communication with the Estimating, Sales, Contracting and Order processing functions. Ensure detailed information on designs are communicated to the wider business. About You: CAD draughting skills Working knowledge of the building industry Ability to “self-manage” own projects Good verbal and written communication skills Experience of Word, Excel and other Microsoft Software. Excellent organisational skills with strong time management Confident and outgoing personality Essential Skills Grade C, GCSE or equivalent– Mathematics, English Numeracy, literacy, ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal, listening, negotiation, communication and IT skills. Knowledge of construction techniques and site constraints. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Desirable Skills ‘A’ Level – Mathematics, English, Science Familiar with working in a target orientated business. Willingness to be involved in other activities to achieve company objectives.
