Job Title: 1-1 Teaching Assistant (SEMH School)

About the Role:
We are looking for a nurturing, understanding, and supportive Teaching Assistant to provide 1-1 support for a Year 10 student in our secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school, which has recently received a “Good” rating from Ofsted. This role is ideal for someone who is resilient and has experience working with special educational needs and challenging behaviour. You will play a key role in helping the student feel supported, building a positive relationship, and fostering a calm, encouraging environment that promotes both social and academic development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1-1 support to a Year 10 male student, focusing on his emotional well-being, academic progress, and behavioural management.
* Establish a trusting, supportive relationship with the student, offering a calm, compassionate presence.
* Employ strategies to help the student navigate challenging behaviour, providing guidance and positive reinforcement.
* Collaborate with the wider teaching and support team to create tailored strategies that support the student’s individual needs.
* Contribute to a nurturing learning environment that promotes resilience and self-confidence.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with students with special educational needs, ideally in a setting with challenging behaviour.
* A nurturing, patient, and resilient personality with the ability to build strong, positive relationships.
* Skills in behaviour management and a supportive, calm approach to handling difficult situations.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team.
* Availability for an immediate start and commitment to a full-time, temp-to-perm role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
