Assistant Project Coordinator/Co-op Student (Civil Construction)

TERM: 8 Month Term Preferred
As an Assistant Project Coordinator, you will support our Project Managers & Superintendents in the delivery of our exciting Civil projects. Your role will focus on maintaining contract documentation, supporting estimating, and assisting with the preparation of budgets and schedules. You will gain experience with various contract types such as Design Build, Plan and Spec, and Construction Management. Please note that a vehicle will be required to visit project sites, as the locations are not easily accessible by public transit.
The purpose of the Assistant Project Coordinator is to support the project team in ensuring profitability, adherence to contract documents, outstanding quality, and a safe workplace. In doing so, you will be involved in:
* Updating and maintaining purchase order logs, shop drawing and submittal logs, and plan logs.
* Gaining an understanding of how to select suppliers and sub-trades and obtain quotations.
* Assisting with and/or clarifying scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers.
* Ensuring continuous focus on site safety in accordance with regulatory requirements and our Corporate Health and Safety Policy.
* Attending site meetings and assisting in the completion of project deficiencies.
* Tracking and keeping inventory of supplies to ensure they arrive on schedule.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
* A full-time student enrolled in a related post-secondary program of study.
* A recent graduate of a University Degree in Civil Engineering, a College Diploma in Architectural Technology, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology program.
* Experience with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel would be an asset.
Pay Rate: $21-$26 / hour, based on applicable education and experience.
