Ward are currently seeking an experienced Security Officer to join our team at Jarman Park. The purpose of this role is to protect the clients’ staff, assets, and infrastructure by the provision of a security presence in addressing issues dealing with fire, damage, theft and health and safety issues.

Pay Rate: £12 per hour
Location: Jarman Park, Hemel Hempstead
Shift Pattern: 2 week rotation on Nights
Week 1 Thurs/Fri/Sat 1900 - 0700
Week 2 Wed/Thurs/Fri/Sat 1900 - 0700
Main Duties:
1. To provide regular foot patrols within defined areas as an effective deterrent in the protection of the client’s property and assets.
2. To effectively control access to the client’s premises, examining documentation to ascertain authenticity and authority to gain access.
3. Where provided, to monitor CCTV and alarm functions, being aware of their operation and responding as required.
4. To assist and escort visitors to their destinations within the client complex when required.
5. To submit detailed reports on the discovery of issues relating to health and safety and crime to the relevant authority, either verbally or in report form as required.
6. In line with Company policy, carry out routine search procedures in a sensitive manner to include vehicles, buildings, and persons.
7. To effectively deal with all incidents falling within the security remit and report all incidents to the relevant authority.
8. To provide a locking service as required, locking doors and gates as required by the client.
9. To provide a point of contact and information centre to staff and visitors.
10. To attain first aid qualifications to meet the Company requirements under health and safety regulations (as required).
11. To maintain a log of all visitors, incidents, and any other records that may be required by the client.
12. To maintain the client's key safe to issue and record all movements of keys within the client's premises.
13. To identify suspicious persons and actions and report such circumstances.
Must Have:
1. Good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate clearly with people at all levels, projecting a confident and professional manner.
2. Ability to observe and accurately record incidents as they occur.
3. Physically fit for the environment of the workplace.
4. Smart appearance whilst representing the company image.
5. Punctual in attendance.
6. Able to work with minimal supervision.
7. Experience within a similar role is preferred.
8. A 5-year checkable work history or school record.
9. SIA Frontline Licence and/or CCTV Licence.
