Multi-Skilled Operative (Line Leader / Machine Operator)
Location: Spalding, Lincs
Pay Rate: £12.90 p/h (training), £13.50 p/h (fully trained)
Shifts: 5 days a week
Contract: Temp to Perm
We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Operative to take on a dual role as Line Leader and Machine Operator within our client's production team. This position requires strong leadership skills alongside the ability to operate and monitor machinery effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
1. Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery to ensure efficiency
2. Ensure the correct packaging, materials, and labels are used for each production run
3. Conduct quality control checks, including weight verification and product consistency
4. Identify and resolve minor machine faults, escalating issues as necessary
5. Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards
Line Leadership:
1. Supervise and coordinate a team of operatives, ensuring production runs smoothly
2. Allocate tasks and monitor performance to meet production targets and quality standards
3. Ensure sufficient stock of raw materials and packaging is available throughout the shift
4. Train and support new and temporary staff, ensuring adherence to procedures
5. Liaise with other departments, including Quality Control, Engineering, and Warehouse teams
General Responsibilities:
1. Complete all necessary production and quality documentation accurately
2. Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
3. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste

Requirements:
1. Previous experience in a machine operation and/or line leadership role
2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets
3. Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
4. Basic computer literacy for data entry and reporting
5. Understanding of food safety and HACCP (training provided if required)
